DONNA GROVES - News Director
Donna owes her radio career to a professor at Paducah Community
College, John Stewart, who later spent years with her as an on-air
colleague during the long-running "Frank and John" show on WKYX.
It was John who told Donna she would be good in radio. Donna earned
a bachelor's degree from Murray State University in 1984, and began
her first stint at WKYX-WKYQ in 1986. With the exception of a few
years when she went to work for the Paducah Sun and then WKMS in
Murray, she has been news director at Bristol Broadcasting for most
of her career.
Donna has won numerous Associated Press awards, including Best
Reporter in the state seven times. When she's not covering breaking
news, she volunteers with Project Hope No-Kill Humane Society in
Metropolis, serving as its treasurer, and assists her boyfriend
Stefan Jagoe with the Grace Episcopal Church Youth Group. She also
enjoys spending time her cats - Sweetness, Rusty, Riley and
Snowball, who is deaf. | |

MATT RYAN - Afternoon News Reporter
Matt Ryan joined the NewsTalk 94.3 staff in 2006 as the Afternoon Anchor/Reporter.
Matt got his start in broadcasting at KTJJ, KREI, KJFF in Farmington / Festus, Missouri
(St. Louis DMA) in 1999. "I remember my first day very well," says Ryan. "Within the
first ninety minutes on the job, a military fighter jet crashed about forty minutes west
of the station. Talk about stress.I hadn't even learned how to use a phone in the
newsroom yet!" Since then, Ryan has been the recipient of several Missouri Broadcaster
Association Awards, including Best Feature Series and Best Spot News Coverage in the state.
He was also a finalist for anchoring the Best Newscast several years in a row, and can
often be heard on ABC News freelance reporting on national news stories that originate
from the region. A graduate of Mineral Area College in 1999, with a good portion of
college time on a Music Scholarship, Ryan recounts covering several stories during
his career that stay on his mind even today. "The one that probably stands out the
most in my mind was a plane that literally crashed in my back yard. I had been at
the station for less than 10 minutes that day when the plane went down. I went home
that night after covering the story and felt like I was still part of it. I was
trying to fall asleep with bright spotlights shining into my bedroom window from
the crash scene."
A native of Missouri, when he's not on the job, Ryan enjoys hiking,
exercising, singing, and church work. He takes an active role at
his church, which is one of the big reasons that brought him to the
area. |

GREG DUNKER - Morning Show Host / PD
Greg
says there are three people to blame for his
getting into radio... his dad, John Stewart
(again?) and Dr. Jeff. "Dad told me to find something
I enjoyed doing, and John Stewart steered me to
radio," said
Greg. "Dr. Jeff got me a job here in 1986." If
you'll notice, John Stewart is responsible for
almost the
entire WKYX staff getting into radio. In fact,
John Stewart got himself into radio. We think it
was an
airborne virus.
Outside of radio, Greg is a die-hard
Cubs fan and a chili head. |

And now with Art's retirement, George Noory is
